HazMat?
[...]
the 'camping for less'link shows which fuel canisters can be shipped UPS without a HazMat fee imposed by the government. Bruntan 4 oz cans will ship without the tariff. The post office will not ship any fuel canisters at all of any brand.
So Bruntan is a good way to go in fuel canisters if you are ever going to be buying fuel from internet or mail order. Because at least 4oz size currently can be bought without a ridiculous $[...] fee per canister.

Excellent burner for solo or duo trips
The Raptor foldable stove has been a hassle-free addition to my pack. I would suggest improvising some kind of wind screen. The piezo lights every time with no signs of wearing out. And as long as you are frugal with your fuel, each canister will last a while. I took three two-day trips last summer and still have fuel to begin next season. It folds neatly into its small rugged protective case. Down the line, I might be looking at titanium for decreased weight, but for an extra ounce or so, the price on this one is a great value.

Beware of cheaters
The Stove comes with no canister!!! Take into consideration when buying it. you're just paying more than 30$ for a small piece of metal.... This is called cheating! i expected canister with fuel at least. The description doesn't say (for the time i'm submitting the review) that the product comes without canister. im disappointed as far as i am going camping/backpacking in a week and i really needed and counted on that f**king stove:((((( 2010-01-11

compact and powerful
i heart my little brunton raptor stove. it packs down so small, you can practically lose it! the arms fold out pretty wide to support my pots easily. the piezo igniter is super convenient and i haven't run into any problems with it yet. i love that it came with a little case too. 2009-11-10

Decent Lightweight Stove
Purchased in Sept 2009 and taken on week-long through hiking trip in Baxter State Park, ME. Stove was light, lit reliably, and was extremely easy to setup and tear down each time used. Another guy had a Jetboil and it's only clear advantage over this stove was that the Jetboil could boil water in very windy environments in it's average boil time, while the Raptor took about twice as long if you didn't huddle around it to protect the flame. In a light to no wind environment the Raptor was equal to sometimes faster for boiling water, using my 10-year old stainless steal MSR pot.
Overall I'd recommend it as a good option for an upgrade where you care about weight and $$$.
Good Camping.
